It occurred to me that I should give my readers a peak behind the curtain, to address some concerns they might be having.
Those of you who know me personally, know that I suffered a great loss recently, when my dear husband passed away suddenly a week ago, at the age of 72. Some of you may be wondering how it is possible for me to write about Joy at a time like this.
I live with my grief everyday, but I take much comfort in the fact that I was blessed to have 40 years with a man who made me laugh everyday, who inspired me, and supported me through all those years. We talked about him leaving before me, and clearly, those conversations prepared me well for the time when it would happen.
This year, I had actually taken the initiative of writing instalments for the advent blog ahead of time. A theme had been chosen, but a friend of mine suggested the theme of Joy which actually worked perfectly with all that I had already written and required only slight modifications.
All that has been required to date has been minor adjustments before I publish the daily instalment.
While it may appear peculiar that I am writing about Joy at a time of grief, it is actually therapeutic, reminding me that life goes on, and to take comfort in the joy that I experienced everyday with my beloved husband and that he would want me to go on. He loved the blog, and he would have wanted that I continue what I had started.
Unlike our minds, life is forever moving in one direction.”

Merci Lucie et Gaetan…s’est toujours un peu surprenant de réaliser qu’il ne reviendra pas. Je l’ai aimé ce cher Pierre. On a eu des bons moments à Casselman avec vous 🙏❤️
