There’s a special tenderness in the air this time of year. As we approach Christmas, I usually feel its invitation to slow down, to notice the glow of lights against the early dusk, to feel the warmth of connection and the quiet hope that settles into our hearts. It’s a season of reflection, yes—but of course, it is also a season of significant movement.
The holiday hustle and bustle,as we juggle the events and merriment spreading across very full days of December!
Typically, we’ve been told to seek the quiet moments to « find our way » and to « think our way into who we are ». We analyze, we reflect, and essentially we wait for clarity to arrive like a neatly wrapped gift under the tree. I do that. I seek clarity in the introspection. But I am starting to understand now, that clarity doesn’t always bloom in stillness. Sometimes, clarity finds us in action!
- Baking the recipe we’ve been meaning to try.
- Making new friends with strangers
- Stepping outside for a walk in the crisp air.
- Jumping into something without much consideration….
There’s very little in life that can’t be undone. Even if you get it wrong, you can try again until it’s right.
The season of giving and receiving, gives US the chance to give something to ourselves: permission to act, to dare….to try something new.
To choose something that feels like a spark of who we’re becoming. A spark doesn’t stay small. It grows. And in growing, it transforms everything it touches.
These small acts—simple, seasonal, imperfect—have a way of revealing truths we didn’t know we were seeking. Action shows us what lights us up, what expands us, and what feels like a gentle “yes” inside our spirit.
I like to be reminded this Christmas that beginnings aren’t just for January, or to be put off until the New Year. They’re happening now, in these ordinary December days filled with re-creating traditions, starting new routines and finding little moments of courage.
So today, I suggest you let yourself do. Choose one action that feels aligned with the person you’re stepping into. Let the season support you—its beauty, its stillness, its invitation to grow.
Because you don’t find yourself by waiting.
You find yourself by living… one meaningful step at a time.

Your blog inspires me.
