Vision of the Seas…its growing on me

Until this morning, I would have told anyone asking me about cruising that big ships were the best, and particularly Royal Caribbeans big ships such as Symphony, Ovation, Harmony, Anthem, Allure, and Oasis of the Seas. That was, until I met Vision of the Seas.

I find myself on Vision of the Seas because of its destination. I have been waiting 4 years to take a cruise through the Panama Canal. Years ago, we visited Panama, and the world famous canal and after watching ships go through it, we thought it would be a great experience to be onboard one of these mighty ships as it cruised through the narrow gates. The dates never worked for us when I was still working, and so it was a priority for retirement.

The ship is much smaller than I am used to and I was slightly disoriented the first few days looking for my favourites or what would be close substitutes for the next 16 day journey. So I sat back and let the ship reveal itself to me.

As a Cancer, I typically stick close to home. (You would not think it given I have thrown myself across oceans in the last few months), but wherever I landed, I made it my home. I nested in Tuscany, found my comforts, and then ventured out further and further, knowing I could find my way back.

I applied this behavioural pattern to the ship, and explored the Centrum on our first day, which is not too far from our cabin. It is actually a large, central agora-like area, on deck 4 that sits open to the other 4 decks above it, populated by a couple of bars, guest services, shore excursion desk, a grand staircase and elevators, allowing you to see what’s going on on 4 levels. Perfect for curious, people watching Cancer like me.

Credit to the animation team, we have joined in on activities that are unique to Vision, and have also really enjoyed watching some of the dancing competitions, and samba lessons. Today we ventured out on the sun deck levels and are discovering different pool deck layouts, and again, finding our comforts.

I guess Vision is growing on me. Change is good,

I am an intuitive and experienced leader and come naturally to coaching. I have spent the last 20 years helping individuals get unstuck, to achieve their goals and objectives. I enjoy interacting with new people and helping them to disengage from the minutiae of situations to see the bigger picture. These conversations inevitably lead to inspiration and it is quite a feeling to finally know what you want to achieve and see the path to get you there. Many individuals I have helped just needed a plan to stop wasting their energies and have more focus, while others needed a bit more time and we customized sessions suited to their needs. In all cases, we achieved positive change in either their professional or personal lives.
